Vile Maw - Need for Lower Rad in Book 8

Vile Maw V 2.0 has not seen that much action since book 7 was released. Between a new fight strat and the need for a full set of radiance gear it just has been an empty shell.
Some changes are coming for book 8 however. Not all details are in but Amlug did post about a reduction in radiance needed.
Finally, we lowered the Vile Maw gloom to 140 (from 150) so if you don’t mind the 40 gloom penalties, you can now enter with 50 radiance.
This should allow more players to get into VM and help their Kin’s beat this big squid. More info to come as we find it.

Another very welcome change! The more I look at the preliminary Book 8 notes, the more I like them!

Seeing how the balrog chain & Thorog axe have been changed from +3 hope to only +1, this is a net effect of a nerf.
Pre Bk8: 150 gloom - (6/6 gear (60) + token (50) + chain (30)) = 10 gloom
Book 8: 140 gloom - (6/6 gear (60) + token (50) + chain or DP (10) = 20 gloom

They can dress up the Vile Maw all they want, but it’s still a gold-plated orc turd of an encouter.
