Turbine and LotRO Servers Down for Maintenance

9 Mar 2009No, we don’t think book 7 is going live today. It has seen the light of the test server to go live just yet. But then I like to be wrong when it comes to patch dates.
The most logical explanation to why you cant play LotRO or even read the forums this morning is . . . duh. duh. dum. Network maintenance. Yep, nothing special or shiny. The notes are on the launcher if you want to read them.
According to the notice the servers will be down from 2:00 AM to 12 PM EST, or 9 AM PST. (Time to write
)
Now, does this mean we can not speculate at a few things? Why do network maintenance now? Are they beefing up the system in anticipation of more subscribers? It is no secret form those who play that the world of Middle Earth is growing. What is your take on it? Time for some fun guessing.
