The following is a summary of LOTRO news and events for Friday, June 1st.

Today’s highlights include news changes coming to the Ettenmoors & PvMP, information on the upcoming reputation system, lots of Evendim news, and more!

~ what the LOTRO developers are talking about

• How to make solo/group content just as “challenging” as raids
  MadeOfLions has an interesting comment regarding the Narsil/Anduril quest arc in Evendim.

  It’s funny you should mention the quality that made Narsil/Anduril great, Jakkin, because the quest arc that revolves around that sword in the Evendim update has a number of quests which are very much not ’spoonfed’ — you’ll need to put your thinking cap on for some of them. I received a bug on one of them this morning, saying the solution wasn’t obvious enough, and I closed it By Design.

• Pet Pathing Fixes
  RagTop points out a quote from the OnlineWelten Dev Chat regarding improvements for pets in the Evendim update.
• LoreBook Update
  Aylwyne addresses questions regarding the content in the LoreBook. The reason there isn’t a whole lot of game content (currently) is they wanted to get pages created for all the different types of content created first. This allows players to focus on adding content to those pages rather than creating new pages. That is not to say they’re done with their involvement as they have plans to add more data pulled directly from the game such as: Item effects, location information, and better categorization!
• Reputation System Information
  Rhidden posts some great information regarding the reputation system they are working on!
• Ettenmoors Update: Shores of Evendim
  Orion posts about the future of PvMP & the Ettenmoors!
• Radar Toggle
  Scenario tells us that we will be able to toggle on and off trivial quests on your radar. This is one of various UI updates coming in the Evendim update.

• OnlineWelten Dev Chat Transcript Available
  The chat transcript from the latest of Dev Chats w/ LOTRO-Europe is now available from OnlineWelten. There’s some great stuff in this so I highly recommend checking it out!
• Interview: Steefel on Evendim, Features, Subscribers
  LOTRO Warcry posts an interview with Jeffrey Steefel (Exec. Producer, LotRO) in which they discuss Evendim, features, subscribers, and more! The big question… when will the update go live? “Very, very close.”
• New Evendim Screenshots
  LOTRO Warcry teases us with over 40 new screenshots of Evendim, Wood Trolls, and Ents.
• The Ultimate LoTRO Newbie Guide
  TenTonHammer’s Cameron Sorden continues updating his Newbie Guide with the addition of Part 4: Training, Equipment, and Statistics. One of the important thing he reminds players of is to remember to train skills! That includes passive skills as many players (even veterans) seem to forget this.
