News of the Day
~ what’s happening in The Lord of the Rings Online

Patience announces Roheryn, a public preview server for players to test out new content before it goes live. - Buddy Keys!
Patience confirms the email that players have received about a second buddy key! It’s real.
Quests
~ information and updates about quests in Middle-earth
- Level 15 Capt quest = too easy / boring
MadeOfLions confirms that the story/theme of the class quests is priority, but they’re always interested in feedback to make sure the difficulty feels right.
From the Developers
~ what the LOTRO developers are talking about
- Auto target and auto fire
Phivex continues the discussion. It’s an interesting post describing how the skill queue works. For instance, did you know that when a skill is queued, the skill AND it’s original target are both saved in the queue? Also, if you don’t have a target selected when you hit a skill button, it automatically selects the nearest target. A nice feature at times but some players are having trouble with this and we might see an option to disable this in the future. Also, some love for the guardians and their late swings (lol!). - Weapon Sheathing
Not really relevant to the current state of the game, but an interesting factoid. According to floon, in the early stages of the game, weapons would disappear when not in combat. Because of the distraction and how terrible it looked, weapon sheathing became a much higher priority.
