Turbine Gives a Fate Answer, Sortof.
May 10th, 2007 by Ealdor
Many in the game have discovered that the Fate trait is not working as the tool tip indicates it should. I do admit that this discussion stems from a captains perspective but reading the boards gives insight into the fact its not working across the classes.
Right now fate is not helping the power regen rate in combat. A made a test and posted the results in the Captain’s forum. We then got an official response on the issue.
Zombie Columbus answered us with this:
Let me just say: Don’t burn all your Fate gear by month 1, you’ll be sad. Not as sad as Minstrels that do so, but still sad. Your Character sheet will also have some functionality that will make it very easy to see how your Fate changes regen and crit.
So, what does this mean? Are we just getting fancy tool tips to show us that it’s not working? I hope they address the issue or at least change the tool tip.

Eek… I hope I haven’t been mislead. I have invested a crap load of money and time to aquire gear and traits to give me a lot of Fate. I believe it has to be doing something, because I don’t experience the same “Power managment” problems other Captains complain about when I solo and I heal pretty well for a Captain.
I have also put a lot of investment into the trait. In a solo situation I seldom run out myself, but in a group doing a heavy instance I will run dry on a boss. NOW, that being said, with my IHoV we did Great Barrows last night and got close to running low but never did. Only our Min and Guard ran dry after a power draining debuff was on them.
