Yes! Patience has told us that the next expansion patch will be out on the 20th. I am really looking forward to this patch as it has given Captains a major does of love as well as helped out hunters.
Get ready for a new reputation system that includes the opening of some new public instances and quest lines.
I will be one who will be very excited for the 20th to come.

Now you can create a cloak design that could end up in the game. Starting August 7 and running to September 4 you can submit to lotro@turbine.com a creative, original design for a cloak.
This is a rather fun and exciting event. I think I may fire up Photoshop and see what I can come up with. And on a personal note, I hope to see Kin designs some day.

Patience has posted another downtime on Wednesday. No details on why but this player can only hope that things are starting to get ready for the new patch.
We can only hope and keep our fingers crossed.

New Services Now Available! - The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ Forums
Huge news! You can now transfer a character to another server. If you have friends on another server you can now join them, and all it will cost is $24.95 per character.
That is not all. Now you can also rename your character for a small fee as well as your Kinship.
Now all we have to do is wait and see what type of problems this will cause on servers that do not want to be known as “insert your least favorite server type here.”

Templates, maps, and other questions? - The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ Forums
There was a lot of talk about the community tools that Turbine was going to include with the game way back during the founders open beta and even closed beta. So far they have released the Lorebook which is fantastic but missing some tools. One being a great map.
Turbine’s Aylwyne gives us/me the answer we have been waiting for concerning maps.
Maps will be released with the next Lorebook update scheduled for later this month. They will use the Google map API.
What this means is now we can use a template to set coordinates in a lorebook page to make a call to the API map and show you where it is. Fantastic news.
As soon as the map is released we will write a tutorial on how to use and write for it.

Good news for those who missed the founders package. Now for a limited time you can purchase lifetime subscription to LotRO. Better hurry though as they are going fast . . . well, just hurry.
On a side note I can attest to the piece of mind having the lifetime membership can give you. I made sure I signed up for the founders lifetime membership before the game went live and have not regretted it.
